Fire Warden Training
In Ireland, all workplaces are required to have an emergency plan in case of a fire. The person in charge of ensuring that the emergency plan is executed is called the fire warden.
It is a legal requirement for companies in Ireland to have fire wardens. The number depends on the size of the company and the workplace.
Any member of the staff can be designated as the fire warden provided that they are trained to lead the response and evacuation procedures for fire-related emergencies.

Fire Warden Training
This course is for employees who are responsible for ensuring that a company’s emergency plan is executed in case of a fire-related emergency. It is also for those who are responsible for training other employees within their organisation about fire prevention, awareness, safety and response.
At the end of the course, the participants should:
- Know all the legislations related to workplace fire in Ireland
- Be able to identify fire hazards in the workplace
- Be able to help in the fire risk assessment process
- Know firefighting equipment to use depending on the type of fire
- Be able locate all fire alarms, fire detectors, emergency exits, fire extinguishers and emergency lights
- Be able to ensure that all firefighting equipment in the office are well maintained and in good condition
- Know how to make and implement emergency and evacuation plans and procedures for the workplace
- Be able to teach and orient staff on how to reduce the risk of fire and how to appropriately respond to fire-related emergencies
We accept up to 12 participants per class.
This course takes 1 day to complete
All participants need to take a written test at the end of the course.
Participants who have successfully completed the course and passed the assessments are going to receive an iSafe Fire Warden Certificate which is valid for 3 years.
