First Aid Course
Situations that require medical attention may happen anywhere including your workplace. For some of these cases, providing prompt treatment is necessary to prevent any injury or illness from worsening and more importantly, to save life.
There is no denying that first aid knowledge is invaluable in the workplace. It helps ensure the safety of workers and at the same time, preserve their lives.
Even the Health and Safety Authority of Ireland (HSA) recognise its importance. As such, it is a legal requirement for businesses to have a qualified first aider in the workplace. The number of employees who are certified to do first aid in case of an emergency varies depending on various factors – nature of work, number of employees, size and location of workplace, etc.
iSafe is a trusted provider of Occupational first aid training courses in Ireland. Our programmes are recognised by the HSA. They are also accredited by the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC).
We offer three training courses:
Basic First Aid Course
PHECC First Aid Responder
PHECC Cardiac First Response
First Aid Course
These courses are for all employees of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and big companies who want to become occupational first aiders.
At the end of these courses, the participants should:
- Know what the responsibilities are of an occupational first aider
- Be able to perform CPR and to use an AED
- Be able to provide immediate treatment to prevent further injury or save a person’s life while waiting for medical assistance
We accept up to 8 participants per PHECC class and up to 12 on the Basic First Aid Course.
All participants need to take a written and a practical test at the end of the course.
After successfully completing the occupational training course and passing the assessments, the participants are going to receive an iSafe and/or PHECC Certificate depending on the course.
